The riverside operative unit is placed in an area that promotes the connections between city center and the near cities. The main purpose is to enhance the accesses to the urban center so as to reorganize and integrate them in the defined urban grid. To reach this, the project proposes direct connections from the riverside until the green area, either by walking or by car.
The project is based on an approach that aims to renovate and redesign all the terrain through connections and paths. In this group of paths (fluvial path, green path, the marina path, walking path and the road), the main element is the constant changing of levels that allows for different uses and relationships with the context and tries to answer and connect different urban realities: building front, road front, marginal front, river path and green path.
The existing group of spaces, buildings, voids and green spaces are the starting point for the intervention. The existing reality is disorganized and fragmented. Therefore, the objective is to replace it punctually and start from one area to another with the aim of connecting them all.
In this process, the effort to change just the necessary an add value and emphasis to what already exist is extremely important. Here, the re-qualification and rehabilitation programs make the intervention profitable not just for the local people but also for the whole city.
